What is Environment Month?: Environment Month is celebrated annually in South Africa during the month of June. This year, the celebrations and participation took place via online communication due to the Corona Virus outbreak. 
January - March 2020: Wetlands Biodiversity Matters.
We celebrated World Wetlands Day, which we cover in this edition, with the aim of reminding society of the state of our wetlands, while also raising awareness of wetlands’ significance. All of us have a role to play in the conservation and protection of our wetlands.

It is essential that we respond to the changing realities of our world. Plastic pollution has been acknowledged as a perennial problem that requires urgent global attention. The Plastic Colloquium we hosted thrashed out a work programme that will, hopefully, see less of single-use plastic.
