Appeal decision 
 

Appeals instituted against decisions of the national air quality officer in respect of the suspension and postponement of compliance with the minimum mission standards. Appeals were lodged by Eskom (Pty) Ltd, the Centre for Environmental Rights on behalf of groundWorks and Earth life Africa and Ms Michele Rivarola (the third appellant) against the various decisions of the DFFE, taken on 30 October 2021, in relation to the 16 applications brought by Eskom for the postponement /suspension of compliance timeframes relating to the National Environmental Management: Air Quality Act 39 of 2004 (NEMAQA), minimum emission standards for Eskom Holdings SOC Ltd.
