Deputy Minister Makhotso Sotyu to lead and address the 2023 Women in Environment Dialogue.

The Deputy Minister of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment, Ms Makhotso Sotyu, will lead and address the Women in Environment Dialogue on Thursday, 09 November 2023, in East London, Eastern Cape Province.
The 2023 Women in Environment Dialogue aims to bring women in the waste management sector together to discuss challenges they face in the sector, garner support for economic empowerment and to award groundbreaking businesses and individuals for their impactful contribution to waste management.
This year, the Women in Environment Dialogue is celebrated under the theme: celebrating women in the waste management sector today for a sustainable future. The 2023 theme aims to highlight how waste management creates sustainable opportunities for businesses and individuals, to share experiences from women in waste management in the country and raise awareness about the impacts of waste on the health of communities.
The deputy minister will also officiate the 2023 Women in Environment Awards Ceremony which aims to recognise and empower ordinary women for their outstanding contribution to the environment sector.
