Deputy Minister Singh to lead Nelson Mandela Day Ministerial Activity in Ethekwini Metropolitan Municipality in Kwazulu-Natal Province
17 July 2025
On 18 July 2025, the Deputy Minister of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment, Mr Narend Singh, will lead the Nelson Mandela Day Ministerial Activity, encouraging citizens and public leaders to dedicate 67 minutes or more of their time to community service and aligning public service with national environmental priorities.
This Nelson Mandela Day event represents a practical and symbolic commitment to restoring the health of our coastal ecosystems, empowering local communities through job creation, and honouring Madiba's legacy through collective environmental action.
The activity forms part of the Source to Sea programme, which aims to reduce land-based pollution entering marine environments and is aligned with the Presidential Good Green Deeds Campaign, promoting sustainable, clean, and green communities.
