The Department to host the SA Agulhas II Open Day Welcome Function

The Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment invites members of the media to a stakeholder cocktail function to be held on board the SA Agulhas II on Friday, 23 May 2025, at the Nelson Mandela Passenger Terminal, in Durban.

This high-level engagement will be led by Deputy Minister Narend Singh, and attended by representatives from the national, provincial and local government, private sector executives and research institutions.

The event forms part of the broader SA Agulhas II Open Day and Demonstration Cruise programme, aimed at strengthening partnerships, advancing marine science collaboration, and showcasing the vessel’s research capabilities and national relevance.
