To improve waste management in municipalities, the DFFE is assisting with Integrated Waste Management Plans, training and also co-operated with Treasury RSA and National CoGTA to the Municipal Infrastructure Grant policy so municipalities can fund their yellow fleet

Today, Collins Chabane Local Municipality receives a compactor truck and skip loader, both valued at over R5 million to assist in waste collection and processing at landfill. While Ba-Phalaborwa Municipality receives a compactor and TLB truck

As part of the handover, Minister Barbara Creecy also conducted a Good Green Deeds cleanup campaign with the new fleet together with Chief Vho-Thovhele Ramovha, Collins Chabane Local Municipality Mayor Cllr Maluleke and Limpopo LEDET MEC Mr Thabo Mokone
