Message of condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of the late Mr Thingahangwi Malotsha

The Minister of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment, Ms Barbara Creecy, Deputy Minister, Ms Makhotso Sotyu, and the Director-General, Ms Nomfundo Tshabalala, wish to express their deepest condolences at the passing of Chemicals and Waste branch official, Mr Thingahangwi Malotsha.

Mr. Malotsha was killed in car accident while on duty outside Queenstown in the Eastern Cape on Tuesday, 25 January 2022.

As a Control Environmental Officer Grade A in the Chemicals and Waste Management branch, Mr Malotsha provided technical support to municipalities in the development and implementation of their integrated waste management plans.

Minister Creecy and Deputy Minister Sotyu convey a message of comfort to his family, friends and colleagues.

“We want to express our sympathy and would like to let the Malotsha family know that our hearts go out to you in your time of sorrow. As the environment family, we have lost one of our loyal and dedicated staff members. We wish you comfort and strength in his painful and difficult period. Our thoughts are with you at this difficult time.”

Mr. Malotsha served the department with diligence. He will be remembered as a very humble, dedicated and hard worker who championed waste management planning countrywide, sometimes going beyond the call of duty to ensure plans and projects were effectively implemented.

Mr. Thingahangwi Malotsha will be laid to rest this Saturday, 5 February 2022 at Tshitereke Location in Limpopo.
