Deputy Minister Sotyu to launch City of Mbombela Local Municipality's Cleaning and Greening Programme with 2 000 new job opportunities created in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga

Deputy Minister of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment, Ms. Makhotso Sotyu, will launch the Cleaning and Greening Programme in the City of Mbombela Local Municipality in Nelspruit on 11 January 2024. The programme will see in 2 000 new jobs being created for local residents.
The City of Mbombela is one of the 14 prioritised municipalities across the country to benefit from the Municipal Cleaning and Greening national intervention. The programme is dedicated to combating environmental degradation and eliminating litter and illegal dumping. In addition, it will boost job creation with a core focus on empowering women, youth and individuals with disabilities. 2 000 participants are being recruited for the City of Mbombela through the Extended Public Works Programme (EPWP).
