GREEN
CAREERS
IN A LANDSCAPE OF POSSIBILITIES!
DECISIONS ABOUT
CAREERS
TAKE PLACE IN MULTIPLE CONTEXTS
LEARNERS IN PRIMARY SCHOOL dream about what they will become when they grow up. HIGH SCHOOL LEARNERS grapple with school and subject choices for entry into learning pathways that will take them into chosen careers. COLLEGE AND UNIVERSITY STUDENTS explore various career options that lead from post school qualifications. And in the workplace, junior, middle and even senior level CAREER PROFESSIONALS make decisions about future career pathways.

PRIMARY USERS:
who use this information to make career decisions, like learners, students and employees in schools, colleges, universities and the workplace, and

AN OVERALL FRAMEWORK FOR GREEN CAREERS IN TEN KEY WORK CONTEXTS.
The banner is the core around which all other resources are organised. It is an overall framework for green careers in ten key work contexts. We call this banner 'A Landscape of Possibilities' to highlight the many options for green careers.
USEFUL FOR CAREER EXHIBITIONS
The banner was developed with career exhibitions in mind. It provides a backdrop for a green career guidance booth in an exhibition hall to guide conversations with visitors. It can also be wall mounted inside an environmental education centre, to provide information to different visitors.
This banner can be printed commercially in two sizes from print ready files. A smaller version of the banner can also be used in the school and college classroom, or at an environmental centre in a career guidance activity.
This A2 or A3 sized poster can be printed commercially or in-house. Some distinct detail in the landscape may be lost in these sizes, but they can still make for useful resources for small group discussions. The green careers landscape can also be used as a digital, on-screen resource for green career guidance activities.
COMMERCIAL PRINTING OF GREEN CAREERS LARGE SIZED BANNERS
Guidelines are provided for:
- commercial printing of two large-sized banners: 3m x 2m and 1.5m x 1m
OPTION A
- Polyester twill fabric, a lightweight material offers a high-quality printed image, and is very easy to transport and set up for display. In the first lighter option of 7 kgs, the fabric banner is supported by a slimline frame of four aluminium poles joined using plastic clips. The second heavier option of 16 kgs is an aluminium fold-out concertina frame to which the banner is secured using velcro strips. This option comes with a carrying bag.
OPTION B
- PVC, a sturdy vinyl material also offers a high-quality printed image. The banner can be mounted using eyelets and rope and can be easily folded for transport.
COMMERCIAL PRINTING OF SMALLER SIZED BANNERS
Commercial printing is also an option for an A2 or A3 sized banner, although much of the detail of the landscape is lost in these sizes. We recommend:
- poster board between 160gsm and 300gsm for durability
- matt lamination for added durability and a high-quality finish
- Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified paper and cardboard, to promote sustainability.
IN - HOUSE PRINTING OF SMALLER SIZED BANNERS
A smaller, A3 sized banner can also be printed in-house at a lower cost. You might consider using 160gsm poster board that can be laminated for durability.
